 vent\, Escambia County Area Transit will unveil three new buses and announ
 ce the launch of the Student Transit Empowerment Pass (STEP) Program. One 
 or more Escambia County Commissioners may be in attendance during this eve
 nt.The three new 2022 Gillig buses are the first buses to be added to the 
 fleet since 2014. Equipped with seated capacity for 23 riders and addition
 al hand straps for riders to safely stand\, each bus is Wi-Fi ready\, cont
 ains automatic passenger counters\, and can accommodate two wheelchairs an
 d two bicycles.&nbsp\;The STEP Program will allow students under the age o
 f 18 to ride ECAT buses at no charge year-round. STEP pass applications wi
 ll be available online or in person at ECAT customer service offices begin
 ning Wednesday\, Dec. 14. Applications must be completed by a parent or le
